The research team of the Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability Laboratory of the Open University of Cyprus headed by Dr. Antonis Zorpas organized a workshop within the framework of the project "BalkanROAD". On behalf of BalkanRoad project, Agricultural University of Tirana (PP6) participated to the exhibition AgroTech 2019, which took place at Expocity, Citypark Tirana on 15-16th of March 2019. In the opening ceremony of the exhibition participated Albania policy makers such as the Minister of Agriculture Mr. Blendi Çuçi, Minister of Infrastructure and Innovation, Mr. Eduart Shalsi, and the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj, who evaluate the development of this event as one of the most unique in the WB and expressed support for all the actors that contribute to development of the agricultural sector in the country. BalkanROAD prepared at the Greek pilot agribusiness in Naoussa two windrows of ca 30 tons in total, consisted of winery waste, manure, straw and zeolite. Composts are anticipated to be ready for recycling on soil in September or earlier.

The first meeting between project partners and stakeholders (policy makers and representatives of national and regional authorities) from all participating countries took place on 18 October in Sofia, Bulgaria. Stakeholders participation in BalkanROAD is a strong project advantage that will bring its results close to policy makers and authorities.
